Greetings to all who've offered their suggestions and help with my power steering pump air bleeding issue and to those who may view this post. I hope you're all well. I've finally resorted to replacing the rack after being told that my system was "air free" and that it could very well be the seal on the inside thats gone south ( I can't remember its name ) and why there were no external leaks. This info was from a mechanic that had no stake in making any money from me letting his shop do the work.
My problem is removing the check valve ( got the retaining ring out with no damage ) from the pressure inlet on the old rack and putting it in the new one. I've turned it upside down but it didn't come out on its own ( Somehow I knew that it wouldn't be that easy :( ) Has anyone had to do what I'm now going completely grey trying to do? Please, again, your suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated. Thank You Much. gk

Steering Rack Check Valve Removal...

Just wanted to post this to anyone who may have the same problem as I did. I guess that valve was supposed to just "fall" out if I faced the pressure line inlet towards the ground and let good old gravity drop it in my hand. Well, that didn't happen and poking, light prying and spinning also didn't help. But a blast of air pressure in the return inlet just above it sure as heck did. I just made sure I had a clean, soft rag to catch it as it came out 'cause I just didn't know how fast it would come out. Well, thats all folks. Hope it helps someone in the future.
