Are the radiator hose clamps (screw-type) OK to use, or are the stock ones better (the ones you expand to put on, then release and they tighten up). I cant seem to find replacement stock ones, just the screw-type which in my opinion do not hold up as well. Wondering where I could get the "good" clamps?

as long as you do not over tighten the screw clamps to point of stripping threads they are 100 x's better.
the spring type are a pain to get off if you do not have right tool. then they fly across the shop and you can not find them for weeks..

if you live near a harbor freight tool shop. you can find a variaty pack of these clamps pretty cheap you never know when a line is going to need spliced backtogether.

I much prefer the screw type hose clamps, however, I only use high quality marine grade stainless steel ones.

My preference has always been the stainless, screw-type. BUT, I did get some cheap ones once, which were awful (stripped very easily). I think I got them at Home Depot.

You could always get replacement spring-types at a junkyard or dealer.

I prefer the screw type, and I also re-tighten them after driving a bit to let the hose settle in.
