Hi, Bishopma.

I'm just about to add coil spring spacers (I already have them, 3/4") to my '92 Explorer and would like to change radius arm bushings at the same time to save some work. Let's see if these folks answer this post soon - I'm getting anxious!

Autozone has a poly kit for less than $20.

you can also get then at carpartsonsale.com they are a little slow but pretty good price

You should try Autozone, I just got mine there a few weeks ago. When they told me the price I thought it was a mistake. They were $3.99 per side for a Mcquay-Norris Poly bushing kit. That was not mistyped, THREE DOLLARS AND NINETY NINE CENTS! It was the whole kit too, all the washers, plastic pieces, etc. Lifetime warranty as well. They are MUCH MUCH nicer than the rubber ones.

Yes! Ride is better with those RA Poly Bushings! About $22 Dlls pair at AutoZone (in Mexico)

I just installed them this weekend. I also installed the coil spring spacers. The passenger side bussing was shot...

And I now need to align the tires. I'm trying to find out how to adjust the camber (posted message titled "camber adjusters").

Is the radius arm the same as the idler arm?

Is it hard to put on the radius arm bushings?

Should I replace anything else when I replace the bushings?

Well I've had the R/A's replaced three times now by my local dealership. Fortunetly the dealership is treating me right.. they are replacing them under warranty. I bought the 75,000 mile extnd warranty when I purchased it.. the 92 has 90,000 on it now. Just had them replaced the third time a couple months ago.. thought the 4 " lift would fix the heat problem from the cat. converter..(more air between the cat and the R/A's)DIDN'T WORK !
Question for the group.... I installed a 4" Trail Master and used the stock Radius arms. Should I find some extended arms to put on the rig ? Will this help save the R/A bushings ?

Its wierd how AutoZone's are different around the country. I went to my local AutoZone and asked if they have Radius Arm bushings. First the guy says "what??? radial arm???" I said no radius arm bushings. He says let me check. Plays on his computer for a minute and says. "No that's a dealer item, we can't get them" He couldn't get the rubber or poly ones according to him...and it wasn't some kid that doesn't know anything like my dad usually blames things on. He must have been in his 40's. But that still doesn't justify anything.

So I went to the local 'real' parts store. You know the smaller ones that are usually more expensive but have/can get everything. They knew exactly what I wanted and I got the Poly bushings through them.

What kind of radius arm bushing should I use? Any particular manufacturer? I did a searh at wrenchhead.com and came up with two differt manufactures that provid several diferent kits. Some of the choices were pivot arm kits and lock nut kits. What are ther and do I need them? Thanks..
