I just tried the ew" Rain X Windshield Wax product.

I have been looking for thisoduct in stores since I dirst discovered it on the Rain X website. Finally found it at a small auto parts store in East Point, GA.

This stuff is so easy to apply and unlike regular Rain X, even easier to wipe off. The "wax" dries to a white haz and simply wipes off with a clean rag.

The product performas just like regular Rain X. I do not know how long it lasts yet ( as compared to the regular formula ).

The priduvts appears to function just like the regular Rain X in its water repelling ability.

I don’t remember the exact cost but I think it was more than the regular version.

Give it a try……

Does it leave smears when you look at it in the sun? That is what scared me away from Rain X products, I've used the swipes and the regular liquid and was not pleased with either as they were both really hard to use even following the instructions step by step, and I wasnt very impressed with how it performs. Maybe this stuff you are talking about is different and worth a try.

No this new stuff is easy to use and leaves none of the problems left by the original.

It amazed me....

Let us know how long it lasts. If it doesn't last long, a cheap alternative is to use regular car wax. It repels rain very well. :chug:

The only problem with using wax is that it can actually cause excessive drag on the wiper motor when using the wipers. I used to use wax all the time untill I tried the new RAIN-X. The new RAIN-X is great. I also use the washer fluid with RAIN-X in it to help maintain the RAIN-X shield. I mix it 50/50 with the DE-ICER washer fluid. I still use wax for the side windows and the inside of the windows.

i had that problem the first time i applied rain x, i could see every stroke i had made on the windshield when i looked into the sun particularly at sunrise and sunset. then i started applying vinyl preparation glass cleaner first and cleaning the window very thoroughly, then i sprayed a fine mist of it all over the window before using the rain x wipe. then after applying the wipe with very tight circular strokes i let it haze and wiped it off with a clean cotton towl. it works fine and it doesn't have that problem anymore. that pre-vinyl application glass cleaner stuff is really useful. it also removes water spots and stuff pretty well. and i find new uses for it all of the time.
