Raleigh Area

Any one close to the raleigh area want to go wheelin? Im pretty new to the area so the places we could go, im not too familar with but i just want to go. So if anyone is in the raleigh area or around here, post something up here and we'll try to get as many as possible to go!

i go to school at NCSU. Will be back at school on the 21st. Where in raleigh do you live? What are you looking to wheel?

thats cool. I live in Garner, not too far from State. My older sister goes there. My ex is only 2wd so we'd probably have to get a couple other 4wd, in case i got stuck or whatever :roll: ... TarHeel085 said he could go after he got done with his coilover if it works out, but i dont know when he goes back to school. Try to get some other people to go and we can plan something.

closest place is Uwharrie. You only being 2wd will present a little problem though. You could run only 3 or 4 of the trails with 2wd only if its dry. That place is slick as ice after a rain. Do you have any mods? Locker? Tires?

yeah i got mods. I got 33s(AT). Im looking to get a locker, because i was reading that they REALLY help a 2wd. 3in bl, tt, shackles.. how far is Uwharrie, hour wise. and theres no little trails around here, like power lines or anything that arent posted Private property?

URE is about 1.45 hours. Its an easy drive though, worth it.

There is nothing legal around Raleigh.

Definately get a locker, however still dont expect it to perform like a 4wd. You still wont be able to go on anything but the easier trails..which is fine.

three hours away you can find what ever floats your boat. we have trails to ride from mild to impassable, some places would be a little tuff for a 2x (all to the holes don't have a by-pass around them) just out side of Altavista VA. we are planning a Sept ride.

Hey, I got a place right outside of URE. I have been trying to get some people together to run it. We can camp out there. (Depending on the number of people, All I have is a small trailer there!) If someone wants to run it, please please PM me. Maybe we can run it as soon as the heat breaks and it starts to cool off for fall.

I'd be interested in going. Just moved to the area in April and only found a couple short powerline trails I drove on once. Well that and the area of 540 they're building right by my house. But I wouldn't suggest that.

I'll only be able to go on the weekend. But not This weekend. If you guys wanted to try maybe the 26 and the 27. I should be able to talk to wife into going. Just have to make sure that the kids are squared away. If not then we can try later.

hmmm....well i was planing on being in CO then but due to my locker somehow not working my truck has been in the shop this whole weekend...i'll be around the next cpl days...
