What's setting is everyone running on their Rancho 9000 shocks? On the 9 way adjustable model, not the older 5 ways, I started out at 3 on all four but was hoping to absorb road imperfections better so I put them at 2 which made the ride pretty bouncy so I'm at 4 now and it seems better. Maybe on a heavier vehicle 2 would be softer but on mine the shocks seem to compress and then shoot the vehicle back up really fast. I mostly do on road big city driving, so potholes, speed bumps, cracked roads, manhole covers that are never flush with the roadway, quick sprints up the highway and going up on curbs to get more room.

I was looking at getting this shocks....how have they been compared to the stockers?

Well, so far they've been great. With 9 settings you're basically getting 9 different shocks instead of one.

Typically I set them at 3F/1R (F=Front/R=Rear)

Cruising around town at lower speeds 1F/1R, the ride gets a little bouncy but I only do this when I want a softer ride and I'm drive fairly slow.

Faster driving on roads with a lot of dips and curves I set them at 5F/3R. This gives me a little harsher ride but I feel much more in control of my truck.

I sometimes adjust them several times a day depending on the driving conditions.

Did I forget to mention that I have the Rancho Incab Controller. :smoke: It makes adjusting the shocks a breeze.

I ahve them all set to 1 right now. Trying to appease the wife who says the ride is too rough.

Otherwise I usually have them on 4 or 5. Nice balance of ride and control. Put them on 9 one time, holy cow were they stiff.

I've thought about getting the in cab controller. Must be nice not to have to crawl underneath every time...

After much experimenting and adjusting, I find the following the best setting for me:

front 3 rear 7

Each truck and each driver will probably like different settings.

Experiment, experiment.......

I am now running 3 on the fronts and 2 on the rears.

I drove on 9 for about 2 months after getting them. I liked the stiffness, but you really do feel every rock or chip in the road. ATM i'm riding at 6, because it feels equal to my non-rancho rear shocks.
