Haven't bought it yet
I have a 1997 XT 4 door (97,000 km). I owned it for 6 month.

Last week we had a crazy rain storm and it wouldn’t start, my friend said he had the a problem with his Ford Probe not starting after heavy rain, also neighbour mention his F150 did too. I didn’t have the time to air it out, plus I didn’t know if that was what was wrong, so I got it towed back to my garage, well the hour long drive must of aired it out because it started right away.

Well I got my ignition wires changed, tune up and PCV changed. Has worked great for the last week but last night we had a little rain and it didn’t start on the first turn of the key, or the second, only on the third when I pumped the gas pedal, which could have just been a fluke that worked when I did it.

Could there be a broken seal in the ignition module, letting in moisture?

Any info or advice would be great.

The same thing just happened with myself. Started up fine all day then while it raining it doesnt even click. I suspect the problem includes the alternaterfor the battery was drainedwithin 45 mins of my last drive. AT 120 000 miles i think it needs fixing.
