Ranger diff?

Contemplating doing a soa lift on the rear of my 96 xploder, is the ramger diff interchangeable with leafs? Any width difference? If its from an older truck with drums would i be able to swap backing plates to go to disc?

make sure it's an 8.8 first,, must be out of a truck with a 4.0 engine, or it's a 7.5,,
also you have to take the whole axle apart to do the backing plate swap,,
measure it to make sure everything is the same width,,

I stumbled across this and it looks to be a ranger diff by the leaf perches. Anyway to identify what year it came from possibly? Maybe 99 up since it appears to have a speed sensor on top?

gear ratio the same ?

I havent looked at it and im guessing he hasnt either. May just buy it just because its sellable if i cant use it

there should be a tag with it on it,,
