Hey, I have a '97 explorer sport and am REALLY wanting to replace the mono-leaf. I would like to buy new springs rather than going to a junkyard to get some off a totalled X. I cannot find springs for an X anywhere on the net, so my question is, can I buy Ranger springs from the same year and expect them to work?

Also, are there any spring sets that would give me 1-2 inches without having to install new shackles. Thanx. Eric.

try to get new leafs for a 4-door explorer. Then use an ass-a-leaf to give a little more lift without the look of shackles

i've got a 99 sport. i want to do the same thing. everyone does the shackles, but if i could, i'd rather swap leafs. does anyone know if there are full leafs that will fit a 99 explorer?
thanks
carlos

I just did my spring swap yesterday. Pulled 2 Code F springs off of a 2000 XLT. $35 a piece, not a bad price at all. Real good condition, very little rust. Any 4dr. springs will fit 91-2001. Rear end is back up to stock and a ton stiffer. Doesn't sit back on its arse on acceleration and is real solid on bumps. Took a little over 2 hours to do with a friend.
