my buddy has a '00 ranger, and he just bought it used not too long ago. it has about 150,000-160,000 (0r so) and when he gets it up to about 65 and puts 'er to the floor, the truck like jumps, it feels like it stalls momentarily, then is fine. its only in overdrive as far as i could tell. we were wondering if it needed a new fuel filter or pump, but then i thought that the RPMs would drop if it wasnt getting sufficient fuel, correct? so then i thought of transmission slipping. the RPMs dont change, it just cuts out.

thanks guys

...Others in your area may respond if you had your location under your name...;)

...From your brief description it could be a number of things...Without knowing the maintenance upkeep (such as when was the last plugs, wires, filters, etc. change) you limit your responses..

...Checking to see if you have any stored codes would help...:hammer:
