Rat Rod/ Hot rod

Me and my buddy are already bored this summer (school go out on wednesday) and we wanted a summer project so we thought for a while and came up with building a hot rod/rat rod. We found a doner car. i think its a 42 modle a coup or something, i cant remember exactly. and i said for a motor, 429. i love them. but then i got thinking and after talking to a few gear heads i know, we came up with a 350. So we looked on the local craigs list and found a 69-72 i believe 350. They want 150 for it. We dont know how many miles are on it at all. But we know it was intended to be a high performance engine so it can be in to bad of shape block wise. It has a gear driven valve train which i like and it has new valve covers, but o dont not car about those. But it looks like its in good shape. What do you think. We are most likely going to gut the whole thing and start from scratch using the block crankshaft rods and pistions most likely. But yea, i think its a great buy. we turned the crank and it has good compression from what i can see but yea!!

Need some pics of this.
Also need some facts to what exactly you have including engine and so on.
Any project is better then no project as long as it keeps you out of the bars and drug scene.
