hey all...

if any of you recognize the name, i am the guy who's engine got swamped and i sucked water into my engine....

i began my task of removing the plugs (surprisingly easy considering that the pasenger side is buried).

but considering this... i had no problems removing the spark plugs... but i can't exactly put my thumb on where the oil pan drainage plug is.

what i thought is the oil pan plug is very tight and wont budge... so therefore i am thinking it might be the transmission drain plug. I have checked the library's reference section for the Chilton guides and they really don't get into details about the pan.

i had the oil changed 3 weeks ago (along with a 630 dollar brake overhaul... my luck that my engine might be toasted... )

anyways... would anyone be kind enough to show a picture or a clear diagram where this plug might be and where exactly?

the plug i am playing with (is stripped now) is located behind the front axle (upside down) in clear sight...

i have read and heard the oil plug is kinda in ****ty area where it runs all over the place... so i am thinking this can't be it... thanks all

Sounds like the right spot. On the OHV the oil drain plug is very easy to get to. The tranny doesn't have a drain plug unless it's a manual so don't worry about that.

I found this picture at www.autozone.com

They have an online manual for 91-99 Explorers which is a duplicate of the Chilton manual.

Here is the page on doing an oil change:
