Re: body lift problems

Since you will be replacing the mounts by the radiator it might be a good idea to replace them all now. You will already have the body off the frame so it would be easy to just put on new bushings when you puck the blocks under. Here is the site that I ordered from : http://www.rockymountainsusp.com/W_poly_Ford80+.htm
I have ordered stuff from them before and they are a good company.

If we're still talking about the front mounts then If you remove the nut and cut off the bolt head you will have to drill the entire bolt out... :( thats a lot of work..

now im on to my second problem ive got the other body mount bolts spinning and not coming out . what can i do to stop them spinning?

I am needing help really bad. I have a 2001 Ford Explorer Sport that is making real bad sounds when driving down the road. I know what it is but not sure of how to fix the problem. I am needing to replace the body bushings on my SUV. I need to know the location of all bushings, (can't find them all) need to know how to get them undone so I can replace them and what I need to do to replace the bushings..... Please help someone... You can even email me with the information at faithwalker02@hotmail.com

there not hard to find just get on the ground and have a look you will see two at the very frontand as you fallow the frame all the way back you will see them 5 on each side you will have to pull up the carpet to get at most of them two of them you can get at from behind the back seats. they can be a real pain to get out . i dont know how body mount bushings could be bad on a 2001. thats strange are you sure thats what you need to fix? whats it doing while you drive?

I agree with 184Baller; body mounts should not be an issue on a 2001 vehicle (especially when you indicate you know the body mounts are the problem, but yet you don't even know where they are located  )

Post back with a detailed explanation of the problem and how you've come to believe body mounts are the problem and we can better help you.

I am not real sure it the total problem... just partly.... Thing is... My husband looked under the suv and for some odd reason some are missing.... Reason are unknown. I have pics of what the body bushings look like. Some are missing on the bottom and some are dry rotten. This is a second handed vehicle.Tell you what I did do. I took wedges and pried it between the chassis and frame and it quit with the horrible sound. If I need to show the pics to anyone, please email me asking for pics and I will glad to send them.... Then again it may not be what I am thinking it is.....

you should beable to add the pic when you add to the post. there is an image button on there. but still sounds strange to me i also have an 82 datsun 4x4 thats been to hell and back and those mount bushings are dry but fine

No need to email.. as mentioned by 184 you can upload your pictures or video into Putfile (free service) and add them to a post by using the Insert image button in the editor.

BTW you problem does sound strange and anything is possible with a 2nd hand vehicle.. Once we see the pictures we can better help..
