There's no "General Questions" forum, so I'll ask here.

Does anyone know of any proper alignment shops in the Raleigh, NC area? I'm tired of taking my Explorer to NTB/Merchants/Tire Kingdom and having to explain to them that an alignment includes more then just a toe adjustment. At which point, having to explain to them how to adjust the camber and caster on the Explorer. It's a pain in the ass. I'd like to be able to take it to someone who knows what their doing.

I'm going around in circles with Merchant's right now. Like an idiot, I got their 5-year alignment. They said I needed camber adjusters on the passenger side. No problem, I knew that, so I put in the old ones I took off the driver side, and took it back. Then they told my wife I needed the camber adjusters, arguing that I didn't have them on BOTH sides. I went to a different shop, and they STILL didn't adjust the camber on that side, but I didn't realize until I left the shop, since they said it was no problem.

I've had luck with Universal Tire, in Garner, and a place on Glenwood downtown - can't remember their name now. I should have stuck with what I knew.

The 3 and 5 year plans are sooo tempting, if they only new what they were doing. The biggest problem I have with them is they always try and do as little work as possible, which means they just adjust toe. I now ALWAYS ask for a printout before they take it off the rack. There has been plenty of times where they just left the camber and caster completely out of whack, even had them once leave them aligned positive on one side, negative on the other ( / /). I've heard every excuse possible from them, and it's not just one Merchants/NTB/Tire Kingdom... it's the lot of them.

The Just Tires on Leesville Road has always done a great job for my family.

I have never had any complaints and always receive a nice printout when I pick up a vehicle.

King Tire in Mebane has always done good by us. Straightend out my F150 after being broadsided at the left front wheel. Two other outfits in Durham and Burlington that the insurance CO sent me to blew it.
