Dumping the exhaust 1 foot after the muffler would be bad? (45 degree turn downs) Would exhaust get in my truck?

If this is bad, how far back should I go and dump?
How would sound be effected with dumping vs. pipes ran all the way to the rear? (Tone, Noise Level?)

Mine is dumped at the muffler. It will be slightly louder when dumped.

exhaust/fume problems inside the cab at all?

Not that I can tell. I'll have to check with others who have known me before and after the install though. :D

But I think it's a federal law that it has to exit behind the passenger cabin. Right? So make sure you have a cool inspection/smog guy.

I've got mine dumpin right from my mufflers and it hasn't been a problem at all...only thing that kinda sucks is the cabin noise when you cruising at 80...
