I am having a problem with the air suspension on my 1997 Ex EB. After towing my mower on a trailer the rear will not raise up, inflate to ride height like it used to. I have towed this exact load many many times so it was nothing new to my EX. The reason I ask is that the air compressor is still running though. Only now it will also turn off and on even after the vehicle has been parked on a level road for over an hour. Does anyone have any ideas as to what is happening???

My suspicion would be a leak in one of the shocks or an air hose, but I don't know enough to give you a solid answer. You might be able to hear it, but a slow leak might be hard to find.

Not many have that system and most who did swapped out for regular gas shocks years ago so...

I layed on the ground underneath the Ex to see if I oculd hear anything leaking and I couldn't. I dont want to swap it out since I'm looking to sell the EX in the next month or so.

I have a Navigator with air shocks (oops, air springs), not an Explorer, but another thing to look at would be the ride height sensor. If the sensor is stuck, it might cause a leveling problem.

BTW, Navigator no longer has air springs. I had intermittent compressor run-on, never could find problem, ended up killing a battery. Now has regular coil springs from Strutmasters.
