I have a 92 x E.B. When I start it the "rear antilock light" doesn't come on, neither does the "e-brake" light. Does anyone think it could be the bulbs or fuses? and isnt that weird how both the lights to do with the brakes dont come on. Another thing my parking brake doesnt work, i can push it down but it doesnt come back up when pull the handle, i have to pull it up with my foot, dont even need to pull handle, can just use foot. Any suggestions?

I'm thinking that its about 90% certain that your bulbs are burnt out in the dash, make it 99% if the other warning lights come on when you turn the key to the on position.

I would still check all fuses first though because that's easier than the bulbs.

Your parking brake problem sounds like the return spring in the pedal is broken. This might be a good item(the complete pedal assy) to get from the auto recycler (junk yard).

now in order to get to the bulbs i am going to have to take the 4 bolts near the windsheild out, or there anymore screws that need to come out, if so where are they. Once all the screws are out, do I just pull the dash back, are there they clips or anything that i should watch out for?

I dont think that you need to take the bolts out. I had a Ranger with the same dash as you, but it has been a long time since removing the instrument panel. Basically, you need to remove the trim piece on the drivers side first, then it will be easy to remove the gauges. I think that there might be a couple of screws holding in on above the gauges, but the rest is held on by clips that just pop out. After removing any screws, carefully and slowly pry the panel away a little at a time and you will see where the clips are.

The bulbs go into the back side of the gauges. They unscrew with a half turn and then come right out.

About the e-brake light, check also the switch. Is located over the e-brake pedal.

About the e-brake mechanism, I agree with Dogfriend, but also, just in case, put a couple of WD-40 shots in the pedal assembly and in the e-brake release handle. It has a ratchet system that easily becomes dirty and stucks. I though that's why you can pull up the e-brake pedal without touch the release handle.

Good luck ;)
