Hello everyone, I have a 94 E.B. Edition Explorer, My rear seat are leather and in excellent condition. However, I finally got to play the role as back seat
passenger, and I noticed that I dont have a head rest. My question is what year Explorers came with a rear bench seat that has ajustable head rest, and can I swap it. Also the driver seat leather is starting to show age. And may need to be swaped with in a year. So the same year and model question applys. Thanks

still looking for help on this question

Does anyone know if 1995 or later, rear bench seats can be exchanged/swapped out and placed in a 1994? Are the bolt patterns the same or are mods needed?

i dont know if this is possible but i would look into getting a head rest that you could just slap on before i replace the whole backseat. that sounds like a major project just for that. also i have a 97 and i dont have any headrests so you might have to get a newer one... try a junkyard if your going to get a whole new backseat though thats what i would do

head rests

I have a 97 XLT and it has fold down 2 piece rear seat and both have head rests. I just posted on newbies board asking how to make a seat fold down, it is stuck/hung up on something. The small one works great but the wide one is hung up.

As long as you get a 4 door it will swap in to my knowledge. '95+ Had headrests. You can use '95-'01 seats.

wow.......i went out and checked and i do have headrests :banghead: . thats clearly my bad, I didnt get a chance toe eat all day till 11  so i was pretty much out of it.

If you need new front seats I used 2003 X seats in the front of my 92 Eddie Bauer. I did have to drill new holes for the mounting brackets and figure out the wiring schematics for the newer model power seats, but it was only about a 4 hour project.

Thanks for the getting back to me, I thank you, and my neck thanks you as well.

The back seats from 1992-2001 four doors will all bolt in to place. I know this as all of my 1st gen explorers have the newer seats (front and back) with adjustable headrests :) Good Luck.
