We have a 2009 Explorer limited, we have having an issue with the right rear caliber sticking, we have replaced the caliper before, is there anything else we should look at that could be causing this issue, like replacing the brake line? No loss of fluid anywhere, and it's seems to not stick on short driving trips, like 10 or 15mins, thanks.

It is possible that the rubber line is collapsed internally causing the piston to not return. If it was my car i would first try removing the caliper to find if its the piston or the slide pins sticking. Unless the caliper was replaced recently (6 months at most) i would say its the caliper remove it and see if anything is binding if not go for the rubber hose.

Also a brake fluid change should probally be done. If its origanal definately should be done.

I have had the plastic piston grow in size with age and bind in the bore. try compressing the piston (hot) while still conected to the brake lines. note the force, then open the bleeder slightly, if no difference its probably the piston . you commented a 15 min drive was OK a longer drive would heat the piston heat up. if it moves easily the hose or possibly the ABS although I dont know how or what a solenoid in the ABS could do to block the brake fluid. note the ABS is very difficult to replace and requires a special programer to bleed.
