i have had a problem with the back left brake i've changed the rotor and pads, my problem is i have a rubbing sound almost like the rotor is warped but when i take it apart the only wear marks are on the inside of the rotor where the emergency brakes make contact. i don't know why it does it only a few inches but it is enough to make a really bad noise . has anyone else had this problem or know how to repair it? i would suspect it has something to do with the emergency brakes, it gets worse the farther you drive the truck.

The emergency brakes stick. Someone else had this problem and talked about fixing them. Unfortunately, I don't remember who. Search for parking brake or emergency brake and you should find the thread.

If what you are saying is that your emergency brake shoes are rubbing inside your rear disc/drum then you could look into getting it turned. If it is only contacting it for a few inches then it is probably too far out of round to turn though. I don't know if you can turn the inside part for the emergency brakes though or not. You can also adjust the rear brake shoes just like you would for any other car that has rear drum brakes. How far down can you push your parking brake pedal? If not very far, then I would try and back the shoes off a little. If you can almost go to the floor, then adjusting them probably isn't going to help. My thought though is that after a couple of hundred miles, it should have rubbed enough to knock off the material that is hitting.
