Okay, I read through and made sure I'm not asking the same question some other poor fool did already...

I installed a Sony CDX-M630 CD player in my 99 X Sport... To get the stock HU out I had to unplug two wiring harness type plugs and when I installed the Sony HU it only needed one... I found out shortly that with the new HU I can't use the rear controls for the radio... I'm guessing that the second plug I took out and can't plug into the Sony HU is for the rear controls, but is there a way to get the rear controls back?

I think there is a company that makes an adapter to restore this function. However, it's a lot cheaper and easier just to give your rear passengers the remote ;)

Yea, thats what everyone else I've talked to says, but the Sony HU I have doesn't have control buttons on the outside, and it looks better with the face closed:

So I need the remote for myself

You could see about getting a second remote.

I may be the only one that feels this way, but why do the people in the back seat need to be able to control the radio??? We've been over this subject and I still can't figure out why they need the controls back there... With a stock head unit I could see it because kids could listen to something different via headphones thats it... Even then I still think its a wasted feature...

You need something like this to make the controls work.

1. It's my truck.
2. I'm driving.
3. I'll listen to what I want.
4. If you don't like it, the child locks aren't on, get out.

Here is another one. do a search on the computer for SWI-X . I think thats what i am going to order. I think the main site is http://www.go2pac.com and no that isnt a joke its the real site. The name of the company is pacific accessory corp. Major

Yea, Passengers do not get to have control. They can ask to watch something or listen to something. But I will still make the final decision. And I never touch another persons radio when I am the passenger.
