i have a 2002 xlt with the 3.73 ls diff, i think i have a pinion bearing going out as it hums when im on the throttle and stops when i let off. i plan on doing bearings and seals while its out. my question is will this kit work?http://www.americanmuscle.com/frpp-88-pinion-kit-8614v8.html?utm_content=Driveline+-+Other|Ford+Racing&utm_campaign=05%2B%20No%20Years&utm_source=Google-pla&utm_medium=Shopping&utm_term=&AMID=frpp-88-pinion-kit-8614v8-GSNoFitmentV1
and is it missing anything that i need for the rebuild?

The fact that you ask the question suggests rebuilding a rear gear set-up is new to your experience. Is it?

Whine or "hum" which changes a lot from "drive" to "coast" is almost never caused by pinion bearings, which howl like hell constantly when gone bad. Rear wheel bearings ditto.

The hum while on the throttle, but no hum when coasting is due to the gearset doing lots more work when driving the car, than it does when driving just the drivetrain and engine. You likely have differential bearing problems, which have allowed misalignment of the gears to occur, or damaged gear teeth themselves, or low on lubricant. That last one should be checked first. If full, remove cover plate of center section and inspect gear teeth. If not nice and shiny like a mirror, there's your problem. Check drained fluid for metal particles. Good luck! imp

I have never done a differential, i planned on gathering parts, pulling out of the vehicle and having someone with experience set it up. I did change the fluid and there is a sparkle. Will this bearing kit for the explorer? I know there is alot that is interchangable but i have never seen anything about the bearings. Thanks in advance
