rear differential noise

hey I have a 04 Ford ranger FX4 Level II, with 103,000 miles on it. I 'm getting a popping or a slipping noise that I think it the rear axle. It make the noise in 4x4 Low only in high you don't hear it. before the warranty when out at 100,000 Ford had it about 2-3 weeks off and on to fix the noise that the front end was making they replace all four ball-joint and drive side CV axle. this weekend I will pull the diff apart and check the gear and the axle spline. Ford call the Limited slip ( Torsen Limited-slip diff) maybe the noise is comming from the limited slip.

Not sure if there was a problem with the Rangers similar to the setups in the newer F150's, but maybe someplace to start?
