Rear door / Liftgate swap

Can I put a 97+ liftgate on a 95 explorer? The rear ends look exactly the same to me, it looks like they just made a different door! Could I grab one from a junkyard and get it working, maybe with a little wiring magic? Anyone heard of such a thing?

yes, its a quite common swap... you will need new tail lights as well
