Rear Driveshaft U-Joint diagnosis/replacement

Some tips to also remember
Always mark your flanges so you can replace things in the same way to keep the balance of the shaft.
A large vise also works wonders for removing or pressing in U joints if used with sockets one to press and on to be pressed into one is a bit smaller then the joint cap and one larger so the cap will fit in it easy. been doing them this way for years now one thing I never do is pound on the yoke at all as you can stress it or even knock it out of shape and make for lose U joint fit never a good thing.

you can replace them without removing the shaft

you can replace them without removing the shaft

that is true and I have done that even on a trail before.

My self if I am changing one out I normally change both out if they have not been done before. But I have seen many times were someone dose not mark flanges and or the shaft parts then putting them together they get them out of balance.

Your way of doing them one at a time and leaving every thing hooked up would stop that. I just like to work off a table now that I am old LMAO.
