I'm rebuilding my 8.8 due to the outter wheel bearing wear a 147,000 miles 97... I was going to replacing the spider gears also they look bad alot of wear..... Or maybe switch in a limited slip.... I got a vibration.... Its not wheels or driveshafts... I'm thinking it could be rear end??? Does the carrier have to come out to replace the spiders?? would ya'll swamp in a limited slip?? Is that the main points.... the outter bearing, seals , spider gears?? Thanks

Tires wearing out unevenly?
A set of ring and pinion gears not engaging each other properly usually makes a whine or if one gear is lose, it will clunk as the gas pedal is pressed/depressed.

If you have stock gear ratio, then you shouldnt need to.

That depends on where you live (snow) and what you do with your vehicle (off road, daily driver on road, etc...)

if you are lifted why not go with a deeper gear and a selectable locker now instead of later?....(that is if it is an off-road rig)

I aggree with skanlaxJMO, if your in there and spendi money do it righr so it wont have to done later. Selectable locker and maybe a different gear ratio. I would assume that you do driv it offroad with your lift and tires. Plus e engine would like oyu more if you had some gears in it.
