My rear hatch sensor is acting up and keeps beeping for the door ajar while i am driving. Very annoying. It went away for a little bit when i opened and closed the rear hatch glass.

Do i have to buy a new sensor for this or is there a way to clean it, say with electrical contact cleaner? Also is there two sensors back there one for the hatch and one for the glass?

Thanks.

So no one knows anything about this? Well i guess i will rip it apart and find out.

i looked at my ford cd for my '95 - it shows one switch for the liftgate glass and two switches for the liftgate itself - so it could be any one of the 3 switches - each switch has a w/p and black wire - these go to the gem module and are involved with the rear wiper too (so it won't operate when open i guess) - the switch for the glass should be located in or near the latch for the glass (bottom of the glass) - the two switches for the liftgate should be near the tail lights
