Rear hood height adjustmet

I found a couple of threads about adjusting the front of the hood height. Does anyone know, do the hinges adjust up & down? If I loosen the 4 bolts going into the firewall, does that have up&down movement for the rear height of the hood?

Short answer to your question is yes, there is height adjustment there. I just went and looked at my 96. The left (driver) side bracket is up against the angled part of the firewall, while the right side has about 1/4" gap between the bracket and firewall. When you look at the bracket, you will see what I am talking about. You can always shim between the hood and hinge if you need more height.

I may need to do that anyway, but I was trying to avoid it. I was hoping the hinges had some adj. I have about 3/8's difference and when I open the hood it catches on the cowl. Not too badly scratched up now but I dont want it to get worse.
