And that's your choice, I just think there's better ways to go if your going this route.

If you can do it great.

If it's going to be done no matter what, why bother with a thread about pro's and con's instead of a "I'm rear mounting an engine, and need some help/ideas?"

it was to get some ideas of what people thought on it. plus it was just being considered when i started this thread but now its going to get done.

Get a hold of a set of flipped axles. Or custom axles with the pinion flipped. That's how with the a driveshafts turning the opposite direction will get you to go forward.

PICTURES when you start

I cant possibly see why but can give you some ideas.

As stated you will need flipped axles if you just want to spin the engine around. definately put a firewall between all passangers and the engine. I would box the frame in the back where you plan to make motor mounts. Expect to add weight to the front, its going to handle like crap with all the weight in the rear. Plan on all new springs, front and rear, the spring rates will be all wrong. The problem of it always being in front wheel drive when in 2 can be overcome by leaving it in 4 all the time and only leaving the rear driveshaft on. Not sure how the tcase will like this but it sure beats just leaving hubs open. If you are actualy going to do this (nothing personal but it honestly sounds like a 16 year old that wants to dream something different and it will never happen) then you will need good fabrication experience and skill, along with a great understanding of drivelines and such. More experience than the average person who would ask these questions would have

the rear mounted motor that your prolly talkin about is the 5 ton tom guy down here in FL, its a custom square tube chassis, runnin two cases to get everything running right

alright i got a 302 now and woundering what would be the pros and cons of mounting it in the rear of the x instead of just puting it in the front?( regardless of the cost and time)

Lol... well if you can make it happen that would be sweet!!! Plus I can come see it because we live in a town where no two places are more than 20 minutes apart.. lol. Let me know if you need an extra hand!
