rear sag fix?

Anyone fix the rear sag issue on these explorers? I was thinking raising the rear 1 inch, is there shackles or a kit for this application?

btw its for a 2000 Explorer E/B 4 door V8 AWD

I have been looking around and interested in buying the warrior 153 shackles, is this a good fix to solve the problem? anyone have pics of this setup on a stock Explorer?

also a link to where I can purchase these would be greatly apprecaited

YOu can get the warrior shackles at desertrat.com or amazon. You have to call desertrat since they dont list them on their site. Shackles will fix your problem. Other solutions would be new leaf springs or add a leaf. YOu can also get copperhead shackles which are cheaper. Do a search and you will get more info on this stuff.

also, auto zone sells a universal shackle for 18$, I wouldn't trust them for too long if your roads are salted though, they aren't as well built.

I have the warrior shackles on my Ex. It is now sitting back to about stock because the springs are about gone. I need to replace them. Factory replacements are about $100 each.

Thanks for the replies guys, I called a local spring shop and they said to add a brand new spring on each side, install a new center pin, new u clambs and install the spring itself they want $220 for parts and labour which IMO isnt that bad considering.


My question is where should I put the new spring? I was told the spring guy would put it one spring down from the top main one. Is this right? also Im told it will raise the rear just under 2 inches, does that sound about right?
