My 2000 Explorer has some serious rattling going on with the rear seat belts. It sound like its coming from the top post. Anyone know of a cure besides ripping them out? They're gettin on my nerves! :hammer:

Your best bet is to take them apart and see what's up.

Probably you need a bushing or some sort of insulation in there.

I can relate on the rattles, I identify the ones my truck gets promptly fix them. 7 years old and rattle free!

There was a post about some Ex's coming from the factory with missing welds in the B-pillar? area.... caused a rattling in the headliner. Took the person and dealer forever to figure out where the rattling was coming from. Try looking for a TSB, or search for Headliner Rattle to see if you can find the post.....

Missing welds? That's very reassuring. I took mine to the dealer one day and when they drove they claimed they couldn't hear it. BS! You can hear over the radio. Guess I'll have to take a day off from work and have one of their idiots go with me for a ride so they can hear.

I did a search and couldn't find the post. Guess I'll keep digging. The rattle is getting worse every day. I've only got 12,000 miles on it and sound rattles like its got a million. :fire:
