Has anyone with a late model Sport removed their rear headrests. I would like to know how to remove mine without destroying them. I want to be able to move my front seat back further when carring loads. I have a '98 Thanks:o

They should just pull out. Im pretty sure i have taken them off before.

That's funny, I have a '98 sport too and always hated driving with the seats down for that same reason. When I tried to remove the headrest I was only able to get the passengers side out, by almost ripping the seat out! There must be a better way!

There is a clip inside that is supposed to keep the headrest from coming off. I was able to reach in between the plastic grommet (thing that the metal support goes into) and the upholstery to get it off.

Unfortuneatly, I lost the clip inside, so someday I will have to take the seat apart to retrieve it. I have never gotten around to doing it because I don't have back seat passengers very often.

I think that the dealer has a special tool to remove the plastic grommet from the seat (thats what one of the parts guys told me) I tried to buy the clip from the dealer, but they wanted to sell me the whole plastic grommet assy for something like $75 so I decided to forget it until I have time to take the seat back apart.
