2004 Ford Explorer limit
I have a 2004 explorer limited. The back up sensor switch next to the steering wheel stays lit all the time, if I press it, it still stays on and I don’t hear any beeping when backing up to objects.
Any suggestions?
Also It was raining a lot today and there is water in my back driver side passenger ceiling near the door and the driver side from pillar. Is there a

I had the same issues with my 2003 after it rained. Once things dried out the sensors would work again. If for some reason they don't, you can get a set of four on eBay (cheapies) and replace all four. I did that and haven't had any issues since.

Had the same problem. I ended taping the switch light on the dash with black tape to hide it.
As the car ages, There's important and non-important problems, at least with me.
Know this doesn't help , but that's my story.

First you should test for a bad sensor. Set your parking brake so it doesn't move and switch ignition to on (don't start it though). Put it in reverse and go to the rear bumper, pressing your ear against each sensor. If you hear a clicking sound coming from the sensor, it's working properly. Any sensors that don't make the clicking sound don't work and need to be replaced. Takes less than 5 mins to do and is super easy.

I have my backup sensor light on and one of the free version obd2 iPhone scanners was able to read which sensor was bad. Mine was left outer which has a chip on the surface.

Not sure which one it was since I downloaded a bunch and haven’t been able to figure out which one I like best…hope this helps
