does anybody have these? i saw 'em on EE's website. i think they would compliment a bigger front airdam nicely, and also would look better than the factory chrome ones. i just cant tell what they would look like overall from this pic. they look like they dont hang down much further than stock, just a little. i need a better picture, perhaps one of the WHOLE vehicle... ok i cant post them cuz its an art file, so could anyone else post it or tell me how...

i think i like those? i'll post the pic and also email them to see if they can send me a better pic somehow. if they do indeed come down a little lower and look kind of cool that would be really neet and i would probably hook some up for my truck too.

maybe i'd paint that grey molding at the same time too...

i guess i can't post pics either. darn it

they've been discontinued. go figure. just add it to the list of explorer parts that are advertised yet either don't fit or don't exist. sure pisses me off too, they seemed like a good idea to me...

from the pic on ee's site, they look like they're shaped exactly like the piece on my 98 sport. but, the rear fender flare is also part of the piece.

:fire:  :fire:  this pisses me off big time. why do (edit) people keep this (edit) up on their site long after it is no longer offered? i can understand if it was just discontinued like last week or something. but son of a (edit). would it be too much trouble to ask you to take it down a (edit) year later?!?! i had made my mind up that these would complete the look of my ride as i am painting the bumpers/grill to match here in a month or so (as soon as the weather clears/humity drops). after eyeballing them i realized they only hang an inch or so lower, just enough to nicely compliment an aftermarket airdam. also, it would no longer need to paint the factory cheesy "chrome" ones. this is not the first time EE has done this, and Steeda and Saleen are also at fault. IF YOU KNOW YOU ARE NOT GONNA CARRY THIS (edit) ANYMORE THEN TAKE IT OFF OF YOUR SITE!!! i now raise a giant uncalled-for middle finger in honor of these businesses. :shoot:

i've decided that i really wanted these. so now we need to figure out what other options we have for getting this look. i'm dead set on at least painting the part of the bumper this covered white, but i really don't want to paint over the chrome. what else could we use??? is there a sport or mountaineer or something that we could by parts off of that would be easier to paint? i've been trying to research this, but haven't found anything that would really work... yet. so help me out here guys. james- you in particular since i know you want them too. i think our trucks will look so much better if we can white out or color match the entire sides, particularly with air dams.

maybe you could buy that piece from a sport, cut the fender flare off, sand the edge down, and paint it?

Have all the ones been discontinued

What about the ones for the earlier X's have those been discontinued as well.

i dunno, ill drive around town an look today. see if i can find any X's with something a little lower-hanging than the factory chrome splash's on mine an expo's. im wondering if maybe some other place would sell these. you know, EE's airdam is made by someone else, and you can buy it cheaper at other places? what if the splashguards are made by someone else? maybe just wishfull thinking...

James T

Who is the maker of Explorer Express's air dam and maybe that same maker has the splash guards:D ;) :p

xenon. not the EE one like expo has, but the other one (cant think of what they call it right now) but it is made by xenon.

my uncles 97 mountaineer has a piece that looks like it may work. it doesn't really hang any lower, but its all smooth plastic (including the upper, nasty grey plastic part that we have on ours) so it could be painted to match and would still set off the rear of the truck in a much better way than the other ones. fordpartsonline has them for 103 each side, which is a little much for me... any other suggestions

you would also have to figure the price of painting into the price for those, but they would look really good with the airdam and stuff.

remember that really ugly explorer conversion "van" thing that someone just posted about? i think it had some sort of a cover over the rear quarter panels and bumper. maybe we should try to track that down

ok, i found a place that has some Saleen lower rear rockers left. but, no pix. i have done an exhausting search trying to find a good pic of an XP8, and cant find any that really show it well. it APPEARS that these sort of "mold" in to the same contuor of the Saleen rear bumper cover. if this is the case, than this is a no-go. but, if they will work, i would like to know. anyone have any pix?
