My system consists of a Nakamichi Head Unit, 4 sets Focal 165A Access Component Speakers and a Pair of Focal 27V2 11" Subwoofers. The sound was fine with me. Far better than what I heard at many pro installs.

The problem begun when my son put more stress on SPL than SQ and he built a hornloaded cabinet of 7.23 Cubic feet housing 2 Pioneer TSW 5000 SPL Subs powered by 4 JBL 1200.1 Amplifier. (Each amp driving a single voice coil of the dual coil subs).

Apart from the inredibly loud system I have a permanently rattling rear window. Is there any way to overcome this ? Also the 4 JBL 1200.1 AMPS take enormous power would adding a spare battery improve the performance and if yes then how would I add one ? Any other comment on my system is welcome.

Thank You

Yes! Rattle sucks.

2 places to isolate noise... 1 is under the headliner, the wire to the rear dome light and the wire behind the upper breaklight. Those rattle LOUD. Foam those... use a soft foam, you can get it at hobby shops in sheets. 2nd, install a rubber insulation ring around the inside of the windowgate, where the window closes down into the door. You can get this at Home Depot, basically tubular waeather stripping. Use the 3/4 inch tube in black. This creates a little bit of pressure around the whole window and dissipates the vibration more into the body than the window. Thirdly, remove your interior panel from the rear door and use foam to help isolate the door components from rattling. Thats where most of the noise comes from. And dont forget to place a rubber block under the center of the license plate. that will stop it from rattling. a 1/2 inch rubber eraser would work.
