I went through the standard Init Procedure listed in the excellent FAQ area with mixed results and I am hoping someone can assist me.

I purchased a used '02 V6 Explorer Sport Trac - loving it. Successfully reset the keyfob, so I assumed that perhaps running this initialization might activate my seemingly dead rear window. It did, but when I turn off the vehicle after running the procedure the window is 'dead' again. It did this twice so I gave up.

As additional background info, the keyless entry pad seems to recognize the factory code, but does not reprogram or even lock/unlock. Could it be these are both related? I have checked all fuses, both the driver box and the engine box, but all are OK.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Does it act like it's binding at any point?

Be SURE to follow the process EXACTLY. If you mess up turn it off and start over. If it's not done exactly and in the allotted time it won't work.

"the keyless entry pad seems to recognize the factory code, but does not reprogram or even lock/unlock."

Don't understand. If you press the "7/8 &9/0" together does it lock? How does it "seem to recognize" ? Where did you get this "factory code" ?

Yes, I get through the Init procedure just fine and on time - the window does all it is supposed to do as a result of a successful Init. But it does not operate normally immediately after. I think it is possessed. At this point I am just happy to have it stay closed.

When I do the keypad entry of the factory code, it does not lock / unlock per the number combinations shown in my owner manual. I got the code from my dealer, but I plan on going back next week to have them give me the code again.

If you press the "7/8 & 9/0" together does it lock?

ALL Ford keypads will lock by pressing "7/8 & 9/0" together. You can walk through the parking lot @ Walmart and press 7/8 & 9/0 on any/all Ford keypads and you'll lock somebody's car. If that doesn't work then you have problems not associated with the proper code.

Do THIS and you can be sure you have the correct code yourself.

I think that's push 7/8 and 9/0 together to lock... :)

LOL at Steve... :D
