In my Explorer Limited with rain-sensing wipers, when I select reverse gear, the rear wiper does not work, even if the front wipers are on.

In the owner's Manual 2015 Explorer, page 96 :"When you select reverse gear, the rear wiper will switch on to intermittent if the front wipers are on."

I do not understand why it does not work?

Thank you in advance ,
Jacques

I think it takes a second or two for it to come on. I noticed on my 2011 that it didn't always seem to work but most of the time it did. I think the front wiper really has to be wiping more than once or twice and that of course depends on how hard it is raining.

Make sure the feature is turned on in the settings menu of the left instrument panel screen.

This. My Ex was set to off when I bought it and had to be turned on through the menus.

Looking at the 2015 Owner's Guide, there is no setting for the 'Reverse Wiper' like there was for the 2013. Also there is no mention in the 2015 Guide that the feature can be Enabled or Disabled like there is in the 2013 Guide.
