Rebuilding my 94 4.0l and I need some help finding parts

hey guys, I haven't posted in a while since some transmission issues I had and resolved thanks to your help.

I now have my 94 4.0l motor completely apart for a rebuild (bad exhaust valve) and everything looks great in the lower end so I don't need pistons or to regrind my crank.

So I need a complete rebuild kit with gaskets, rings, bearings, timing components, etc.

I have been searching and have been having no luck finding much for the 4.0l. I only find tons and tons of 5.0l stuff. I know there has to be some 4.0l specific companies that frequent these forums or companies you guys know of.

Can you guy PLEASE steer me to the right company or companies.

I just did a search on google and found some good places to start. Try these as I dont know exactly what you want. Hi-po stuff try supersixmotorsports.com or moranav6racing.com. For stock re-build kits try rockauto.com. Hope this helps.

Thanks man. I have came accross both of those performance guys and I just need a simple rebuild.

I did try Rockauto.com but they didn't have everything and I think their prices were steep. There has to be some 4.0l specialist for replacement parts online. All my other cars seem to have some kind of specialist that caters to them with the greatest prices. Maybe I will contact those performance shops and see if they can do rebuild kits.

When I needed mine rebuilt I Just called my local parts house (not autozone) and told him what I wanted and he basically built me a kit of parts.. It did cost more than the rebuild kit for my 460, but that was expected..

The 4.0 ohv isn't the kind of motor you normally find tons of aftermarket support for. That means rebuild kits etc seem to cost more since there is less of a supply and demand.

For example.. compare prices for lifters for the 4.0 to say a 302.. I didn't replace the lifters on the 4.0 becuase they cost so much...

Wow, I wish I would have seen a deal like that when we rebuilt ours. Cheapest I ever found them was $35 each..
