Hi guys, my 1995 v6 4.0 automatic ranger was slipping 2-3 and no engine brake in 1 or 2 manual gears. Did the Transgo shift kit repair; I´m positive I did every step correctly. Checked ohms in every solenoid and they were fine; changed the EPC solenoid anyway, still got correct ohm reading (according to the shift kit specs : COAST, SS1, SS2, SS3: 22-48 OHMS; TCC: 9-16 OHMS; EPC 3.1 TO 5.7 OHMS).
Used torquemeter for valve body bolts (70-90 in/lb), used new gaskets for everything (valvebody and carter). Filled with approx 3.5 liters of Mercon V, waited to heat a bit, but at first the gear selector lever wouldn´t move. like it was stuck. Then added 1.5 liters more and it shifts normally but no gears engage, not even reverse. What do you think is the problem??? I´m getting correct level in the dip stick (just at the upper limit of the grilled section)
Added one mor quarter up to 6 liters; dipstick over upper limit.. Now I´m thinking maybe it needs more fluid but I have a dipstick that doesn´t belong to my truck?? How many liters are used for this operation?
Thanx!
