OK,
As a recap, I could not repair my old electric shift motor. I got a rebuilt one and installed it, but 4x4 still not working. I am positive I have it (and all the wires) installed the way they were.
One point: To get the motor to fit over the triangular trasfer case shaft, I had to remove the bracket from the end of the motor so I could rotate it a few degrees further counterclockwise - otherwise it would not slip onto the shaft. I then replaced the bracket onto the motor and everything fit OK.
Since this motor is new to my transfer case, is it likely that I need to rotate the plate at the back of the electric motor's gear housing to match the shaft position of this particular transfer case? I'm refering to the part you need to match-mark before you take the motor apart.
I did unhook the connectors from the module in back, turned the key on and pushed the test button. It flashed several times and went out.
Any ideas?
