Hi Chris,

I managed to get 10 litres of the comma oil Jan suggested.

Thanks Kev.

hi kev
probably a good move .good transmission fluid makes all the difference. cheers chris

Very true Chris. New fluid in my old box made a difference for a while. Hope to get in finished this week, and keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks Kev.

I finished it late last night. Was a bit peed off that the transmission light was constantly flashing!!! It was engaging all gear positions though.

Went for a test drive this morning. Light never came back on.

Super smooth shifting.
Doesn't roll back on a hill when in drive anymore.
Torque converter locks up alot earlier. Might get more than 12mpg now!!!!
No leaks. Always a bonus.
For the last few months there has been a 'whizzing' noise when starting from cold that lasted a few minutes. I thought it was the serpentine belt, but it has gone too.

Its been along difficult job but I'm pleased with the improvements.

I will redo the brakebands after a few hundred miles and then see how it copes with my horsebox and caravan.

Overall I'm very pleased if not a bit tentitive untill it has a few miles under its belt.
Thankyou for all of you who have shown interest.

Kev.

If only I were this brave. Congrats!!
