Don't know if anyone has linked this doc yet but it describes inspection, cost allowances, has inspection fail / pass, and installation video links (same links I embedded in this post), and more for this 24S02 recall:

So you're saying they took your truck in and inspected them but did not replace anything?I guess mine were totally secure. Nothing new for me.

I'm guessing the majority of Explorers won't require replacements.I guess mine were totally secure. Nothing new for me.

If they're not replacing them if not loose, then am I right in thinking that since safety recalls don't expire, those of us who don't get them replaced *now*, will get a one-time future replacement?
Surely they can't call the recall work completed merely because the trim isn't loose yet? We all had trim that wasn't loose yet... until it is. I wonder if removing the original trim, adding the glue, and putting same pieces back on, (except replace anything that breaks during removal?) is considered to be completed to satisfy the recall.
I wonder if there's the possibility, that similar to the toe link recall, they're bringing in vehicles to check for the time being, but eventually when they have sufficient stock, will replace them all. Since mine aren't loose, I don't feel like making two trips to dealership just so they can tell me what I already know on the first trip, if they're not going to replace or at least add the glue.
Maybe I should have thoroughly read that PDF I linked previously instead of only skimming over it, but mine aren't loose yet.

Yes, that is what happened. Says “passed inspection” on the invoice. So you're saying they took your truck in and inspected them but did not replace anything?

My guess is that will likely be the outcome of most inspections.Yes, that is what happened. Says “passed inspection” on the invoice.

Makes you stop and think... "recalling 4,142 Ford Explorer SUVs produced between May 17, 2010 and March 3, 2019", then "owners in Vietnam can take their vehicles to dealers to have their A-pillar trim inspected and replaced".More news....
Ford Explorer Recalled In Vietnam Over A-Pillar Trim Detachments
Peter
I wonder how many Ford Dealers there are to support only 4,142 vehicles over nearly a decade, and how far owners must travel to get to one. Vietnam isn't a large country in square mileage but has about a 2000 mi coastline.

I was talking to a dealer parts manager yesterday, and he said they have plenty of new outers, but they've gotten very few inners so far, so they get used up almost instantly. Apparently, Ford is re-evaluating the inners & making more changes...

Loose and the weatherseals popped out at the bottom. The seals on both sides were flapping in the wind and the left side broke off on a highway trip. Were yours loose, or did they just replace them with no questions asked?
I bought black Gorilla tape and sealed them up to the windshield.

Ok thanks. Mine seem tight by hand, but vibrate and buzz at highway speeds, and the weatherstripping is broken and poking out. Hopefully that is enough cause for them to replace them.
