I heard this one while out having a few cold ones with some friends last night. Someone said that they heard now Firestone is PO'd at Ford for recalling their tires and want to blame the steering components of the Explorers. They say it is BS that Ford is trashing their name and they want to recall every Explorer and get it off the road with a replacement truck or a check.
Like I said this is a rumor I heard
But has anyone else heard this. I dont believe it cause I dont think the steering in the TTB and IFS could both be flawed the same. Oh well Firestone's VS. Ford will never end I guess. Just hang on to that Explorer it may be a collector's item before you know it.

good luck to them.
hell if i'd ever get rid of my ford.
ford kicks ass

Its not inconcievable, but not likely that they would have all Explorers removed from the roads. More likely they'll force Ford to find a way to patch the problem.

I am not worried in the slightest! I know for one it's not possible to get every Explorer off the road, people like me wouldn’t let it happen! :-)

I can just see it now, early in the morning, I awake in my Explorer (yes, my Explorer) to find a tow truck attempting to lift the front end up! I however put a stop to this by no, not asking him to stop, but rather starting my Explorer and gunning it in reverse. I can see it now, he is trying to go forward, but my little Explorer would be putting up when hell of a fight trying to go in the opposite direction!! LOL, hahaha, I crack myself up!

Now that I think about it that would be one hell of a burnout!!

Regards,

Peter
