Ok here is the issue. I need to regear the front and rear but I don't have time to do both in one day. I have the brown wire mod done. So if I regear the rear and leave the front transfercase turned off will that hurt any thing? Or vis-a-versa?

i am thinking from past changes.. no you do not as long as you can unlock your hubs..

so I can do this then?

Just do not put it in 4wd before you get the front done- also it would help if you did have the manual hubs-just in case. If you're still not really sure ask a local shop, they should be able to give you a suggestion. good luck.

As long as you have it in 2wd, it's not a problem. It'll be fine until you get the front regeared. Well, that is as long you don't put it in 4wd.

Manual hubs on a '99? hmmmmmm

You should be fine with the brown wire mod. If uncertain, you can remove the front driveshaft.

Another thought. Are you having a shop do it? If I remember correctly, it only took them about 4 - 5 hours to do mine (2wd), so there might be a chance they can get it done in one day.

Me and him are doing them. I think it will best just incase just to remove the front driveshaft.

Yeah the front driveshaft removal seems like the best bet. Thanks all. Lets get workin on this Chris. I hate conflicting schedules!!!
