Ok,
So I just talked to my friend who knows Reiter even better than I do, and if you guys want to, we are free for Sunday for some playing if you are thinking this weekend... Saturday wont work for me because I'm trying to go snowboarding. But then again, I'm thinking Sunday may be bad for people due to easter? If not pick a weekend, I'm always around there...
And my truck still has its 4x2 thing going on, so we wouldn't be on anything too nasty...some mild but fun trails... pick a day guys! :D Its supposed to be nice this weekend too....

I'm trying to shame Dreamr into going up there NEXT weekend 4-17/4-18 at least he's lifted, I'm stock with 31's.

Sounds like jrgaylor is interested too.

I might take the running boards off first, before they get ripped off. Plus I never step on them and I kinda want to see what it looks like without them.

I can most likely do it the 17th or 18th. You probably wont bang you truck up too bad because we are talking about taking some relatively mild trails I believe... :)

Dreamr is staring out the window thinking about it.

Albino, Shame away buddy-o :D
Seriously though, you should take the boards off whether we go or not just to see.
I bet that you will find you have about the same clearance as I do. I mean heh, I only got around 1 to 1.5 out of the shackles, and am only running 30's.
IMO it would probably look pretty good!!
I had a hard time finding a 4-door without the boards, and when I did it had no roof rack. I should have got one with both and just removed the boards. But this one had the nicer paint and was in generaly better shape.

Snow, what's your definition of mild? j/k I am just not willing to go through anymore nasty turns where I have to pick which I want a shredded tire or a deep scrape, or better yet ..............ok I'll stop

Ya know that last bit of Tahuya when we ran into the BFR and had to back out. That corner was too tight for my level of paranoia. What do you think Albino? That last bit before coming out into the clearcut area in general was pretty tight. And think at the time I was worried about the clearcut area, which was the easiest part of the trail.

Not that I am complaining jrgaylor, I truly had a good time, and was appreciative of all the advice and help you offered to help us remain free of major body damage. WA trees are scary

I would just rather avoid another lengthy session with A 10-inch buffer

Maybe I should just herculine the whole thing rather than just the tupperware.

Ya know I need to ride along with somebody on one of the more extreme trips. Growing up we had a much different definition of wheelin, this stuff is like my dad's hunting trips in the Idaho Backcountry. He swore they were roads, but I still wonder if they were only roads made by the wildlife.

I think when we see something like that, we get out and look at it and come up with a plan. We were kind of charging through some stuff :burnout: we should have eye-balled better (for us stockers). Also, we were running in 4hi, except when I had to back up right before the clearing. I could sense that wouldn't be good for the tranny, 4 Lo was much easier on it and easier to control distances.

Having more radios (I now have a pair) will help a lot.

I watched Joe's lines closely and used some mountain biking experience in several places, like getting the back end to kick out away from a tree on the inside of the corner. That is a combination of tire placement and the appropriate speed (like a reverse berm shot).

We're never goning to know the pucker factor :bounce: until we see it for ourselves and the only way to do that is to be there!

Heck, if Katie can do it with 2 wd, we gotta be wimps to not even try! :p

Am I reaching the shame saturation point? :hammer:

LOL.
I really miss my 4WD so much. It would have prevented my scars... Its hard to swing around stuff with only the rear tires turning. I just have more clearence and flex(no sway bars). I think with your 4wd and my clearance, were almost even on ability...

I'm going to try and take a bunch of pictures up at Reiter this weekend and show you guys an idea what its like up there. :bounce:

He he I was in 4 low most of the trip. Though on the last hill I thought I would see how the Control-Trac did on it's own. Clunk goes those alloys against the first rock. :banghead:

Working on it, really just waiting for the tax refund.

Did you see her door??? j/k.

:LOL I'm still debating with my truck. It says it's going, I'm still thinkin thinkin' not so much.

I still really need some rock bars, I smash that tupperware up even going into the snowy mountain trails sometimes. blah blah blah blah  blah............

SnowExploder-what is wrong with your 4x4?

from the other thread

"I'm wanting the SAS(especially since my front diff is seized anyways) and thinking about the SAS, but don't know how or when it could happen. WAY beyond my expertise"

This was in the Body Damage thread.

P

Maybe we should take up a donation plate and get her fixed?

The soonest I could make it to Reiter would be April 24th, Sundays are not a good day because of time I spend with my family.

Brian AKA "BMOTOX" just went solid, he may still have his fron end up for sale???

I went out and bought a GPS so my navigation will be alot better, I also have TOPO maps for Evans creek, Reiter pit/lake Isabel trail, Tahuya.

I would be down to go with you guys and gals ;) ! My X is stock so I can only do so much but it would be fun anyhow. I am good to roll any day on the weekend. Just let me know. Vinny.

Welcome to the forum Red.
Your stock vehicle won't inhibit you to much!
They are very capable, it's kinda shocking actually!
Besides Albino and I are very close to stock suspension and tread wise.
I do highly recommend a bigger tire to get those differentials up a bit more though.

Like it said in the other thread, it's seized up as far as anyone can tell. No one has actually taken the time to take it apart and find out for sure exactly what it is though.

Also, something funny that happened this weekend... My rear driveline fell out. Actually not too funny, but kinda. We fixed it... just backed over a log(it was kinda big), and poof, there it went. So before I even fix my 4wd I gotta get a new/exteneded driveline because I can't flex in the back at all without risk of losing it again, which also means no wheeling till its fixed either. :banghead:
My baby is in a mess right now. The list of Have To Fix is getting bigger and scarier.

I am sorry to hear about your driveline issues Snow. That is one of the reasons, I can't decide on suspension or body lift. Body lift is easy, and I can get another inch out of the T-bars. I'll only have to adjust headlights, speedo, and a slim possibility brake lines. To go with the better choice and get the 4 inch Superlift I have to do all the same, plus add in new drive shaft at least for the front, and shocks. I loath $$$$$$$$

Back to you though, get that driveline, and get some of these more mechanically inclined gentlemen to help me tear open your dif and assess the damage. Worst case scenario it's all mangled and we go to the junk yard with the handy dandy tool kit and a bit of money. :)

Also where's the Pics :bounce:

I couldn't get the pics at Reiter because I was baby-ing my baby and didn't want to run the risk of it being hurt again. Sorry :( I'll try to get up there this weekend and take some. I'm looking into the driveline thing this week so hopefully my Ex will be feeling better soon.

Come on, let's go!

:bounce: Dreamr, if she's going up there with all her troubles, there's no reason we shouldn't go with her!

Besides, there's a lake up there, where there's a lake, there's water (duh) and where there's water, there's FISH! :bounce: :bounce: Even if we have to walk the last part.

Unfortunately, I can't go 4-24 or 4-25 so it's this weekend or the two after.

There is no way I'm going up isabel right now, or for a while...lol. That trail is tough. I know for a fact I wouldnt make it far without 4wd. Plus, I'm not ready for any more scars right now. My baby is still recuperating from the last adventure.

Jeez Albino are you excited to go bang up your baby or what ;)

I don't think I can make it this weekend, I very well may have to work. I am trying to find site coverage, but we will see.

As to Reiter Pit, I really don't think I am up for wheeling right now. It needs to get a few more inadvertant scrapes and scratches before I set out to deliberately gain more. More to the truth, I haven't felt the urge that strongly, and I really want to avoid any damage, particularly to the rocker panels. Give me time, Besides It's almost summer, it's time for the foot paths and the scenery that my vehicle could never make it too.

No I don't WANT damage

I didn't really mean to try to get the stockers up to the lake this weekend. The pictures from those web sites are interesting though. There might be less water on the trail later in the year. :banghead:

I'll bet you a half case there's plenty fun to be had at the pit with Katie and 99RedX. Besides Vinny needs to find out what his rig can do.

Maybe we should wait until Katie's rig is a little more capable?

We Northwesterners need to get together soon though! :bounce:

If this weekend doesn't work, no worries. I think I'll take Travis to the Springbrook Trout farm between Renton and Kent. I really want to see his face when his fishing rod starts shaking with a fish. ;)

BTW we were on the lake sunday afternoon and he was practicing his casting and he accidently dropped his pole overboard. It was about 2 ft down and going down fast by the time I got to that side of the boat. He was heart broken so I let him use one of mine for a while. :(
