Believe me guys, I've tried searching everywhere for an answer to this. I have a 94' Limited with the stock JBL factory amps and sub. The head unit is a Pioneer DEH P6400. I used the aftermarket head/factory amp integration harness from crutchfield (the one with the little black box with the adjustment screws on it). I've decided to install an amp (Kenwood) and a 10" sub. I've got the power and ground wires connected as well as the RCA's to the back of the head unit. However, the remote lead from the amp (the one I'm adding) to the head unit is a little tricky. The head unit's remote lead is already connected to another remote lead in the harness, I'm assuming it's the lead from the factory amp. If I try to tap in the new remote lead from my kenwood with the connection between the head and the factory amp, then the head unit won't turn on. I tried using the ACC lead from the head (which is also connected to the harness), but when I do that the radio fuse in the ford fuse box blows-15 amp fuse. Anybody have any ideas? Can I run the remote lead directly to the fuse box and if so where and how? Thanks.

Nevermind, tried splicing into the remote lead of the factory amp right behind the head unit harness and that did the trick.

if anybody reads this?

if anybody reads this i would appreciate it. umm i dont know how to explain it but herer it goes.... i doint know how to install the head unit, i took out the factory one, looked at the wires that were connected to the factory HU but they wouldnt connect to my new Pioneer 2600 HU (the plastic connector is too big!!) any ideas??? thanx :p

You want to go to a car audio place and buy the wiring harness for your truck. This will splice to the wires on the head unit and then plug into your X.
Note: ALWAYS put the ground from the head unit to a chasis ground NOT to the ground on the wiring harness.
