What exactly is involved in removing the factory unit in my daughters EB? I am considering installing a new one myself. I cannot locate any screws, etc. Thanks

If you look at the head unit, there should be two little holes on each side of it. You will need to go to wal-mart or someting and get a FORD din removal kit. It is two pieces of metal shaped like U's. You will stick them in the holes and slide it right out. If you search the site, there are many threads that go into detail about removing it.

I believe the factory head unit requires a special tool that you insert into the two holes on the sides. You can pick that tool up at any Pep Boys or Autozone. To replace the door speakers just remove the door panels and go from there.

they are right about the din removal tools. but on a 91-92, you have to remove the plastic trim around the headunit before you can pull it out.

What's involved with taking off the plastic trim?
