I recently purchased a 96 Explorer XLT 4x4... There is a after market CD player installed so the 6 disc in the center concil is just taking up space. I am unable to locate any clips are see any screws holding this thing in. Can anyone help me???

You can search here in the forum for "remove center console", that might help

Take off the center console lid and its hinge, all in one piece. Then, there are 4 screws, 2 at the front and 2 at the rear of the plastic liner of the center console, that the cd changer is attached to. Also take out the cupholders so you can access the wiring to the cd changer. You might be able to unclip the cupholders at the rear and tilt it forward instead of taking out the whole piece. Once the wiring to the changer (and phone, if you have it) is unplugged, the changer and plastic liner should come out as one piece. Then there are 3 screws on each end of the changer to remove it from the console liner. After that, just put the liner back in and youre done.
