I want to remove my front corner and above-the-headlamp lenes, but cannot seem to find a starting point. If someone could just tell me what screws to remove to get to the lense attachments it would be appreciated.

Open the flaps that give you access to the headlight bulbs. You sould she two tabs that look like they are located at the back of the corner lamps(on top) there are two screws to unloosen. After that all you have to do is pull the corner lense assembly straight out. May be difficult. Just pull one end out at a time.

I replaced mine.. what he says is right, remove the 2 top screws. but the "all you have to do is pull the corner lense assembly straight out" part is worth commenting on :)

what I did to remove mine was try and grab the corner lense as best I could in the small gap between the headlight and turn and, along with the clips at the top (under the flaps) wiggle it back and forth, the lense would move forward and eventually gave me clearance to take it out.

this took me about 15 minutes, the driver side one was stubborn.

just my 2 cents :)

I did the same thing as they did, and if you need help figuring out what to do, get a Haynes manual for the Explorer. That's how I figured it out on mine. You can get it at any auto parts store.

yea, good suggestion man, the instructions that come wiht the lenses (if any, I don't remember) would be poor and most likley inaccurate, the hayes manual is actually how I figured out how to do mine, heh, I'm glad you said that, I had forgot all about the thing

I recently changed my cornors to clear also, but I have one question. Did anyone else have a problem trying to find bulbs that would fit for the turn lights? Are they 3157's? They said they didn't make any good superwhites for that size so u either have to use crappy superwhites or modify the good ones (use tape to make them stay). If anyone knows there are good ones, where do you buy them?

for '95 and up models the turn signal has 2 3157s and a bulb that resembles a 194, the 194 does work in that slot, APC makes superwhite bulbs, I've had them in my turns for a while now, they're fine.

I just bought the APC's superwhites for the turn signals and installed them. I already had the B1 hybrids in for the 194's because those fit (but they don't make them for the turn signals). There is a HUGE difference in brightness and color. The B1's looks bright and blue, the APC's look almost yellow (kinda like the difference between stock and aftermarket headlights). I recommend that you find a good pair of these bulbs, it makes your car look a lot nicer.

I know what you mean, I noticed that too when I got my APC superwhites, they looked.. almost orange, but its just different enough that I like it really.. but thanks for the info, I may just change my mind on that :P

Aren't the B1 Hybrid M13 waffle's (3157 equivalent) bases different? When I had my Solara the rear turn signals were 3157 so I bought a pair of them (APC didn't have their 3157's out yet) and they wouldn't stay in the sockets, they lacked that little black "clip" thing.

Yeah... the B1 Hybrid bases are different for the 3157's (they don't have the clip), but not for the 194's. Some guy told me to just put some tape around the bottom of the 3157's to make them stay in, but that didn't work. Another person told me use some glue but I never tried that. I heard there are some Japaneese brands that have the clip and look really good. If anyone finds some, please tell me.
