removing factory HU

what can i use as a key to remove factory HU instead of buying the removal tool. i saw a mention about using a wire hanger, any suggestions?

The removal tool is $3 at Walmart, but yes you can use a coat hanger or similar.

I'd just buy the tool as to not damage anything.

Or just take out the two bolts above the climate controls that hold the black trim piece in. Pull it out and push in on the sides of the headunit and it will slide right out.

Buy the $3 tool from Wal-Mart. Pay cash. Save receipt. Open package carefully. Return tool to Wal-Mart when finished.
